On December 31, 2020, the College of Basic Medical Sciences organized and held the 2020 Acceptance Meeting on the Pandemic Emergency Technological Research, during which the following research projects, “Research on SARS-CoV-2 Mutation and Molecular Dynamics of Virus Spreading” by Professor Li Fan’s research team, and “the Development of a SARS-CoV-2 High throughput detection chip” by Professor Wang Fang’s team were accepted.
The two professors reported on the current research progress and achievements to a panel of experts, who, after attentive listening, thorough scrutiny and in-depth discussions, affirmed the progress, practical effects and research achievements of the projects. Under their unanimous decision, the projects were passed and accepted.
Given the normalization of preventing and combating the Pandemic, establishing relevant research projects that are targeted specifically at overcoming Pandemic related technological barriers can help turn the tides with the power of basic medical science.
