The Animal Experiment Center of College of Basic Medical Sciences Jilin University, which was established in 2001 and affiliated to the College of Basic Medical Sciences Jilin University. The center is the first department with the barrier environment facilities of experimental animal in Jilin Province. It is a comprehensive service organization integrating service, teaching and scientific research.
The center is an important public service platform of Jilin University, as well as a talent training platform for medical experimental animal and an open animal experiment platform in Jilin Province. Since its establishment, the center has always been committed to providing Jilin University, Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, Beihua University, Jilin Medical University, Changchun Medical College and other universities of Jilin Province, scientific research institutions, surrounding units with national standards of experimental animal, perfect animal experimental conditions, advanced animal experimental technology and thoughtful scientific and technological services. It is an important service support systems, teaching and research bases for the above-mentioned units to undertake national and provincial scientific research projects.
The center currently has more than 20 staff members. Among them, there are 1 full-time teacher and 4 of them are professors and associate professors. 1 staff has doctoral degree and 4 staffs have master's degree. Their majors are related to experimental animal, including experimental animal, veterinary medicine, animal husbandry, microbiology, parasites, nutrition, etc.
At present, the center has undertaken 1 National Natural Science Foundation of China project, 1 Chinese post-doctoral project, 1 Chinese post-doctoral international exchange and cooperation project, 9 Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Department projects, 1 Education Department of Jilin Provincial project, 1 Jilin Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission project and 18 horizontal topics. The staffs of the center has published more than 50 academic papers, including 10 SCI papers, with a total project funding of more than 2 million yuan.
The center undertakes the teaching tasks of experimental animal for undergraduates, international students and postgraduates in 9 colleges of Norman Bethune Health Science Center of Jilin University. As the main carrier of the medical experimental animal scientific research and innovative talent training platform construction project of Jilin Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the center has undertaken animal research from more than 20 units such as Jilin University, Changchun University of Chinese Medicine, Beihua University and Changchun Kangyue Biotech Co., Ltd. in the past two years, more than 400 experimental animal technicians have been trained.
